A good coat

I believe a good coat is a key item for a successful wardrobe but sadly is an item too often neglected. Strictly speaking I guess this is more a mac than coat but whatever you want to call it it is perfect for those days when you need protection from the elements rather than warmth. It is an unlined and slightly modified version of my pattern for the Tweed Coat and therefore requires the cutting and joining of just 30 rather than 54 pieces of fabric!

This lightweight mac is made from dry oilskin fabric which is shower and wind proof and just gets better looking with age. You can make your own mac with A Pitch the Cloth and Make it in Wales.
